Hotel Rate Chart
The star rating will help you choose the accommodation that`s right for you. Tourism Council assessors have visited hotels, flats, houses, and cottages and serviced apartments on your behalf assessing quality, including comfort, space, and facilities and most important of all cleanliness. The quality rating system is easy to use and is based on extensive research. So when you choose a Star-rated property you can rest assured that your expectations will be met or even exceeded.
One star hotels : Are likely to be small and independently owned. Facilities would be limited and simple. Rooms may well not have en-suite bathrooms. Maintenance, cleanliness and comfort should be acceptable.
Two star hotels : will typically be small to medium sized. Some business hotels would fall into this category. Rooms usually have an en-suite bathroom. Reception, facilities and food offerings will all be broader and more professionally presented.
Three star hotels : are usually large enough to offer a significantly greater quality and range of facilities and services than the lower star hotels. Reception and other public areas will be larger and the restaurant will serve both hotel guests and non-guests. All bedrooms will have en-suite bathrooms and will offer a good standard of comfort and equipment, such as a hair dryer, direct dial telephone, toiletries, etc. There will most likely be some room service and some provision for business travellers.
Four-star hotels : include a degree of luxury and quality in the furnishings, decor and equipment in all areas of the hotel. Rooms will be larger than in the lower star hotels, and will have well designed, co-ordinated furnishings and decor. The en-suite bathrooms will probably have both bath and shower. Services will include concierge, 24-hour room service, laundry and dry-cleaning, sports, etc. The restaurants will attempt a more serious approach to good cuisine.
Five star hotels : Offer spacious and luxurious accommodation throughout. Interior design should impress with its quality and attention to detail, comfort and elegance. Furnishings should be immaculate. Services should be formal, well supervised and flawless in attention to guests` needs, without being intrusive. There will be a range of restaurants and they will demonstrate a high level of skill in producing dishes to the highest international standards. Facilities will be extensive and will include pool, gym, business center, banquet and conference rooms, shops, salons, etc.
Six star hotels : Are not yet fully recognized categories, but some properties describe themselves as such. It is meant to denote an offering significantly different from a five star hotel to warrant a higher category. There are indeed instances where this in fact seems to be true and there is somewhere it is not. At a minimum one can be assure of a very good five star offering.
